We like to consider ourselves pretty "big-time" water skiers. I've been thinking about adding on a wakeboard tower for our 2005 Sea Ray 200 Sport. We could really use the extra storage and might even add some of those fancy speakers to the tower as to project sound towards the skier.

I understand that most towers fit boats for a specified boat width, etc., however I wasn't sure if anyone on here has personally added a tower to their Sea Ray sport. It would be nice to know that a certain tower is very compatible with my boat before making a purchase.

Any insight on this topic would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

My tower came on the boat from Sea Ray, but is an aftermarket tower. I am not sure the brand.

I would make sure that who ever you go with has installed a tower on your model boat before and will use backing plates where the tower mounts to the hull. Also, there should be a rubber gasket/washer between the fiberglass and tower that does not allow any tower to fiberglass contact. That tower will move more than you think and does not need to flex against the hull. If you trailer your boat and store in a garage, you might want to explore a collapsing option. Mine uses some good bolts and folds forward. When down, it is the same height as the windshield. Also wax it. Bugs will start to stick to it when rolling down the road. I didnt think I would like my boat with a tower, but now couldnt see it without one. Mine has an integrated bimini top and keeps the sun off of us. They are great.
