I have just finished appling 4 coats of Sitken Natural Marine and am trying to decide if I now need to apply a couple coats of the High Gloss? I am looking for impute, thoughts and suggestions!

I will try to put up the finished piece's......which are the anchor platform, bow stripes and stern stripes. All other exterior piece's are in sanding process except swim platform which I can not currently get at with the boat in the water or can I?

Per Sikkens, a coat can be applied after three coats. Do not apply to areas such as steps or any other area that will be used for foot traffic as they will be slippery when wet.

OK some pictures are up without the high gloss coat....which I am leaning toward doing so there is a harder coat on the wood for more protection?

I kind of agree. I don't top mine with gloss either. I think it looks a little more natural without it.

I don’t top mine either. I have two coats to start and mycock pit and taft rails are going on year 4. The only thing I do is wash and add a coat each year.

I scuff mine very lightly with 150 grit, wipe it down with a tack cloth, and then put a fresh light coat on top of it. I could get away with doing it only once every couple of years, but it is a pretty fast and asy process and I don't mind doing it so I do it more often. It take longer to mask around it than it does to add a fresh top coat.

I went without the gloss top coat and find its glossy enough without it.
Got 3 years maintenace free out of it and could probably go longer but this spring I'll give it a light sanding and add another coat.
