Sitex SP-110 autopilot on mechanical steering?

Does anyone have experience with the Sitex SP-110 on twin Mercruisers with mechanical power assisted steering. I have a 1988 270 Sea Ray Amberjack with twin 4.3L outdrives which I use for trolling for trout & salmon on Lake Ontario. I am wondering how this unit would work for my application.
