I just mounted a Sirius/Shakespeare SRA-40 antenna on my 380's radar arch, I mounted it on the starboard side to the right of the GPS antenna. I have gotten the cable down to the speaker opening on the arch. Any advise on getting the cable back to the stereo from this point?

i just finished this install. I fished it down the starboard side. I was then able to fish to helm...then cabin hanging closet...then stereo in cabinet above salon table. Not sure your stereo is mounted in the same area. If it is...remove arch cushion, then helm storage...then panel in closet. Took a while to fish all the way, but worked out great. I will try to load some pictures.

Here is a picture of the cockpit install for running the cable for the Sirius radio. I have not taken pictures of cabin, but I will this weekend. I installed new Clarion M309 Stereo with new Helm control. They work great.

OK, so why can I not uplaod a picture greater than 20kb? I must be doing something wrong.

Thanks for the info, how does the arch cushion detach? I don't see any exposed fasteners.
Tom

Yes, the cushion has three plug dowels attached to the arch and the backside of the cushion has the holes. I cut away the sealant and when re-attaching, I used sealant on dowels and re-sealed the exterior.

You could also go through the speaker hole, but then fishing through bottom of arch would be difficult.

Okay, does that mean that you just pull on the arch cushion to remove it? My arch mounted speaker is about 3 feet up from the base of the arch so reaching down is not an option.

I pulled the speaker and fished a fishtape up after pulling off the vinyl panel. Pulled the wire down thru the arch attachment at the hull (large wire chase) and down along the starbord side forward to the helm (remove the molded plastic panel to the right of the helm seat) and you should see a gray wire loom tube. I fished mine thru here with the tape and right to the radio head. (I do think I opened the 12v panel to check the routing). The arch speaker and sub wires run through it - you should be able to see it if you remove the trim (wood) panel over the radio/CD changer.

Thanks again, I saw the wire chase when I opened up the radio panel, will give it a shot on my next day off.

Pulled off the arch arch cushion and removed the storage compartment next to the helm. I put the snake into the wire chase from the salon/stereo side and it popped out at the base of the arch, pulled the antenna cable back to the radio, pretty simple once the area was opened up. Put a little time in to clean up behind the arch pad and the storage compartment, and then put it back together. All in all about 90 minutes work. Thanks to all for the info.
