Like almost every year bunch of ice fisherman get stuck on a piece of ice that floated away on Lake Erie. I can almost hear the ice flows crashing down the rivers as I speak. Spring is just around the corner now.

I can still remember when a friend of mine took his dad’s Blazer out on the ice and promptly sank it. As you can imagine it was not a good end of the high school year for him.

WV, your post reminded me of something we did in high school that turned out OK. We were driving a friend's parents' car out on the ice of Saginaw Bay (Lake Huron). We were going about 20mph in a blinding snow storm. We didn't know how far down along the shoreline we'd gone but as we looked ahead we could see open water.
Being dumb kids, the driver slammed on the brakes. The car started to slide and we knew we couldn't stop before we got to the edge of the ice.
There were 3 of us in the 4 door car so we opened the doors and bailed out. We all rolled and slid slowly to a stop just a few yards short of the open water and watched as the car rolled off the ice and sank....in about 6" of water.
As we got our bearings we realized we were only about 50 yards offshore. The friend whose parents owned the car waded through the water, got in and drove the car up onto the beach then along the beach to a place where he could get up to the road.
Two VERY scared kids got back in the car when he got to shore and came to the realization that what we were doing was VERY stoooopid. We swore each other to secrecy and as far as I know the word of our misdeed never got out.

We are changing fuel/water separators and on-engine fuel filters NEXT Saturday! Lining up all the seacocks, firing the mains and the generator, turning on the HVAC. Next steps, new VHF/AIS install for big Southern Chesapeake Bay Trip in July. C'mon warm weather!
