hey guys. i know this has been talked about to death on here but want to be sure mine is the same issues i have read here. rained all day today and i was in the boat working all day. i noticed the channel on the inside of my windows had water laying in them and was dripping (1986 sundancer 250). when i pushed on the seal on the inner edge water gushed up out. i'm guessing i need new seals? BTW-both windows were leaking the same way. the boat is in my driveway barely level and the water was dripping form the front of the windows so apparently was slightly downhill. i only mention this as maybe there are drain holes near the rear that this would normally drain from?

Are the drain holes behind the gray covers on the outside of the boat on the window frame clear to drain ? If you do not level the boat when it is sitting on the trailer with enough rain it will collect enough water past the drain holes to leak in . The window flock the holds the slide windows and allows them to slide is no way a perfect seal. The important part to keep windows rails from flooding and leaking in is that they are free of debris so the water can drain before filling up and coming into the boat. With all that said if the window flock is deteriorated and blocking the window frame from draining then you will need to replace the flock from Taylor Made and it is not cheap to buy.

thanks dvx. going to look at it closer today. i didn't notice anything blocking the drains but with the boat sitting level or slightly bow down it probably isn't draining at all. my driveway is slightly uphill and i have the bow jacked up about as high as i can get it. it will be in the water friday for the summer and is stored indoors in the winter. just this few weeks in between that it sits in my driveway. i will follow up later

took another look. didn't see anything blocking it up. i'm thinking maybe it is from the boat sitting at the level it is

Like mentioned above the flocking is mainly for the window to slide in. Make sure the drains are open. The seal that wraps around the lower portion of the window is more than likely the problem. I just cleaned that area up on my boat. If you push in on the window you will see the seal pull away from the window. I used a small hook tool and pulled as much of the seal out as possible. I then laid down two layers of tape and put in 3M adhesive/sealant to make a new seal. The tape helped to keep the new caulk line straight and narrow. It solved my water problems.
