350 Mercruiser I/O
Hello Everyone. I have a 1979 SRV225 Express cruiser and I LOVE IT!!!!!!! Old Yeller is her name and she is in great condition (excellent craftmanship i would say). I have more then 500hrs on the boat but my 350 merc was installed new in 2007 it has around 15-20 now. Anyway I have the convertible top and the bimini that attaches but I was wondering if anyone knows where I could find the side curtains and the aft capmer attachment so I can keep the bugs out at night. I really hate the idea of taking it to a custom upolstery shop paying big $$$$$$$$. Any Ideas? Also if this model is prone to any problems please let me know.
Thanks for the info.

If you have a sewing machine, attempt it yourself. It is not that hard. My last boat I built the entire top and it was a cheaper.

I just had the side curtains and rear camper (with new frame) made by a local canvas shop. A little over $2000.00.....not cheap. Unfortunately, I really don't think you will find a ready made cheaper version. Making it yourself is a good option, but I know if I did it, it would never have come out as good as the pro job I had done. One thing I will say is that it's worth the money. Really great in bad weather, and even nice on hot sunny days, with the added shade.

Thanks guys...... I think I'm gonna try to sew it myself. I don't have alot of experence other than altering my own uniforms and making a costume back in collage. Any suggestions on materal? Will I need a special type of machine or will a regular house hold version do. What size of needle ond stitch should I go with?

I have dealt with Leta's Top Shop ( http://www.letastopshop.com/ ) for a Bayliner I have. VERY happy with the quality. The one I ordered was on clearance and cost me $400 instead of the $1,600 - $2,000 I was quoted locally. I believe the regular price was around $1,100.
