I have two SHURFLO 3.3 GPM water pumps in my 2001 400 Sedan. I noticed yesterday that my #2 designated pump fails to kick on, and my #1 pump seems to be doing all the work. Both pumps feed independently from the fresh water tank but then tie in together for the accumulator, etc. I turned pump 1 off at the breaker and ran pump 2 and it never kicked on, even when the pressure was reduced to basically zero and there was no more flow through the faucets. Granted I realized the problem when I was poking around in there fiddling with the waterpump filters. The tank had been drained and then refilled and when I was checking for leaks realized the problem. Is there a way to test the pump? Are they rebuildable? Any insight would be appreciated as this is very new to me.

Check out this thread. Post #11 has the Shurflo replacement part number. Post #10 lists a place to get parts. http://clubsearay.com/showthread.php/70717-Fresh-water-pump-pulsating-is-it-end-of-life?highlight=

Thank you for the link, not sure why it didn't pop up when I did my search. Lots of good info there. Quick question for you since we seem to have the same model & year. Do you find that your no.2 pump only comes on during increased demand? If you shut off your no.1 pump at the breaker, does your no.2 just take over? Is that the way the system is supposed to operate? I'm wondering if maybe my no2 has never worked since purchase...
Also, my no.1 pump is loud but I wonder if that is just how they are. I have the same pumps as you listed in that post you shared. Thank you for you help, we seem to be travelling down the same path with our purchases!

Looks like everything in our boats is designed for a 14 year life. Ha! I have a breaker for each pump. If the breaker is on, I believe the pump pushes water when a faucet is open. So if both breakers are on I am pretty sure I get both pumps working (although I have never technically verified this). The main trunk is 22mm in diameter. Each pump feeds the main trunk via 15mm lines from the pump. So, if you do the math the capacity of the main trunk is the two pumps pushing water into it at the same time. When my pump #2 went on the blink I turned it off and just turned on the other pump.
