Shower sump problem

While trying to check my "check" valve in the sump this morining I notice a small leak. The barb coming out of the box has a hair line crack. I bought a whole new setup at Westmarine this afternoon ( they matched boatersworld price.....West was $130 and BW was $89...that's a big difference for the same part). Anyway, I didn't feel like re-wiring and re-caulking, so I used the pump and float from the original box. I'll keep the new float and pump as a spare.

I used the new check valve as well. The old valve was definitely my original problem. The rubber vanes were stuck open and would allow enough water to re-enter the box and cause the pump to constantly cycle.

These check valves are very similar to duck bill valves in the vacuuflush. Another spare part to add to the "spares" box. By the way....anyone know where to buy JUST the check valve... :smt017

I'll answer my own question for the benefit of others. I hit a brick wall at all the regular marine stores. Then I got the number for the distributor (ITT marine) in Glouster, MA. I spoke with a women in their customer service and she is sending me two check valves FREE of charge. (I have two sumps in my 410DA). Now that is customer service . I was more than willing to pay for the valves and or the shipping....but she was very polite and said no thanks.....

 to ITT-Marine.....

I am having an issue with my shower sump pump. Previously, after a rough ride I would pull into my slip and hear the pump running. I assume it was turned on due to the switch by jostled by some heavy waves. I would take off the plastic cover off the box, jiggle the switch once, and it would turn off. Problem solved.

I went to the boat last night and while reaching for a rag that I keep in the compartment where the breakers are, I noticed the sump pump breaker was tripped. I flip it and it keeps tripping. Any ideas? Could the pump have been running the entire time after my previous trip (3-4 days earlier) and done damage to the pump which in turn tripped the breaker? I dont shower on the boat and have no AC so I am tempted to leave it be for now.
