She’s wet and ready for fun!

Still a lot of work to do to make her pretty again after a bit of neglect from the previous owner, but we are in the water and having fun.

Had the first mate showing dad how to drive. Everything went great on our first cruise of the season. And nerves aside, docking was a breeze....and I hope I didn't just jinx

It is! I assume you are familiar with the area...
As a matter of fact, I am. Was there last year for first time, as a slip owner. Upgraded at end of year to a Searay 450, and have moved out to Scenic Dock, as a new neighbor. Well actually, service manager placed it there, since we not allowed in yet. Hopefully beginning of June. I will stop and introduce myself.

Replying to my own post... LOL

I just have to say, I know my boat is old and nowhere near the sexy as things there are today, but man am I happy to have it. Being I got it for a song last fall and will be putting some sweat into it to get things nice again, it is mechanically strong, was well taken care of and is a blast.

I hope everyone on this site realizes how lucky we are to have such toys. New or old...

Getting out there is the whole thing, it really isn’t about what you have, it’s what you need and want. I had a 17-19’ (models between 1976 and 1996) boat for about 22 years of boating. Then we decided We wanted to sleep on the water so we bought a 2002 Four Winns 268 Vista. We loved it so much, then came the 2000 380 DA. All my boats have been older but in good-excellent condition for their age. Everyone says “I can’t believe your boat is a xxxx (year)”

get her back to her glory, it will make amazing memories

I always say ... it doesn't mater the year or the cost all boats get you to the same beach and that is the important thing to me for anyone.

Older boats can be just as sexy as newer boats. My wife and I fell in love with our 400 EC and traded our much newer Chaparal and never looked back. While it's not perfect, our boat is uniquely ours and one of the biggest in our marina. I compare it to newer boats, but haven't seen any reason to make a change. Enjoy your boat.

I have a 1998 290 sundancer. I can honestly say after all the work and love we put into it it is the talk of our dock. I have guys who spent $100 k + walk up to me and say wow love your boat. Its not what you spend its how much you love and care for her

Great looking 340! Is she slipped in Duncan Bay Marina?

Yes, Duncan Bay.

Thanks! I have some polishing to do on the deck for sure, but we're slowly getting her put back into shape. It has been a great learning boat for me so far being I am fairly inexperienced. These boats can be overwhelming with all the systems and things to learn and pay attention to, but so worth it!

Love Duncan Bay. Was up there in 2017 and will be back in Cheboygan this summer (July timeframe) but staying at the state marina in town. My father lives on Duncan Bay in one of the condos there, and will take the dinghy from the state harbor to his place. I also hope to do some snorkeling around the sunken ferry, last time just went by slow and looked from the top.
Duncan Bay Boat Club is a real nice place.

Mind if I cheat a bit?
Here's our new to us 2008 Monaco Cayman 35' diesel pusher with a 350hp Cummins. Sleeps 4 comfortably, full galley, full head and a combo washer/dryer.

Bought her from a private party, had it surveyed and it came out very well. It's in the shop right now getting the front and rear caps sanded to restore the clear coat.
