Is this one of those water issues that everyone deals with because no one knows for sure?

You nailed it....mine came from dripping female connections due to the clamps. No water in the forward bilge now. Recaulked ER vents and no water in the mid bilge now.

100% dry bilges now...

Hey Bennet. Can you be a little more specific? What are “female connections due to clamps”? And what are ER vents?

I have and you likely do, red hoses for hot water and blue for cold water. On each end of each is a 1/2” female connector like a garden hose connection. The pic below is my water manifold. I cut off all of the connections and replaced them with PEX 1/2” fittings and spring clamps. ER=engine room. The caulk around them was pretty much gone, so recaulking them stopped water that was getting under my engines.

So are you suggesting that the water from those hose was leaking into your mid berth bilge?

I just dried mine out and the repainted. Since it’s dark I’ll wait until tomorrow to investigate the ER. I’m wondering if it could be condensation from the AC units as well.

My biggest problem is I don’t know what pipes or hoses are run on that side of my boat.

I know I had “drippy” hoses that allowed water to gather in the bilges. Toughest to find and fix was the shower mixing valve in the master head. ACs have a pan under them and a hose that drains the water from the pan. Those hoses run to my shower box. Good luck!

Interesting enough I can see the water dripping in from an access hole if the back portion of that bilge. It has two of those inch or so access holes that are throughout the boat. The trick is figuring out what causes it and how to stop it. All I ran last night was the AC and the freshwater pump before I noticed the water entering. Now to figure out that plumbing set up. I’ll try and look at the suggestions you guys mentioned. Thanks for the help and please keep them coming if you think of anything.

With your fresh water pump turned on, do you ever hear it cycle on/off and no one has a faucet turned on? If so, you have a leak in the system somewhere. There are numerous freshwater connections you can readily see in the bilge-your HWH, etc. Find your water manifold. Connections there are prime suspects. Check under sinks, toilets, etc. everywhere there is a water connection. Where do your AC condensate lines drain to? Stay after it and you will get it.

no answer yet but it has nothing to do with the freshwater system. That water is salty. Since the area was completely dry when I did the survey and the boat lived in salt water is has to be associated, somehow, to the AC units or excess water leaking in the bilge. I took some dye, used to detect leaks in a pool, and poorer that in the area of the bilge where it pools. We’ll see tomorrow if the water inside is colored. Hopefully not because I don’t want that head ache. After that I plan on adding dye to the ac lines somewhere to see if there is a leak there. Not sure what else to do. The water isn’t substantial but it is there.
