I have restated the question that has been commented on for the past few days. After 10 unsuccessful tries, the Iphone will delete/scramble the encryption key rendering data stored on the phone useless. The FBI seeks to turn this feature off, enabling them with a properly issued subpoena to access the data contained on the device.

It is up to Apple to decide what features they want to put in a phone.

The market will vote.

A comment on the other thread wash bashing Apple for their closed environment - I happen to like the fact I don't get viruses on my phone. If someone doesn't like how Apple does things - buy a different kind of phone.

I hope we still think about and desire to be a capitalistic, market driven society. USSR was an example of a centrally run economy.
