Is there a city water connection on a 250DA? Mine is a 1997 and I found what appears to be some kind of connection under the back bench at the transom. If not, what is that?

If it looks like the female end of a garden house, it is shore water. If it is an outside hose faucet, it is a washdown outlet.

Wait a sec, a garden hose fitting could also be an 'aftermarket' drive and engine flush point. Someone may have added a flush kit to the boat before you bought it. The fitting you found would trace back to a set up like this in the ER:

Note the red handle on the valve (since been replaced with ball valve). Attaching a hose there allows the drive and engine to be flushed with fresh water after use.

Henry, how do you flush if you're on a mooring ?
I'm on a mooring also, would love to do the flush but didnt think it would work for me
I mean by the time I flushed at the dock, then went to my mooring,it would be filled w/salt again

I flush it Sunday afternoon. I close the drive off and connect a hose to the washdown pump and use tank water if we can't get to our dock. If the tide is high enough I tie up to the neighborhood dock and do the engine, then head out to the morring and give it a minute or so on the tank water. It works for us because we are far enough up river that the water is mostly fresh even though we still are effected by tides.

It won't get the drive, but the engine does get cleaned out. Not a perfect system, but a best as can be accomplished under the circumstances.

Hi. The "city water" connection is in the little hatch at the back of the boat on the Starboard side. You attach a Garden hose to the connection at that will by-pass your water storage tank.
There is a hose connection on the hot water heater but that is on the Port side in front of your batteries.
If there is something actually inside the bilge all the way to the rear then that is something added, like the other posts have discussed.
I have close to the same boat
"98" 250 w/ the 5.7
Good luck
