On my 89 340DA I have 2 connections on the boat. OK I hooked up the lead with the y connector on it and pluged it into the shore power. Went back to the boat and looked at the curcuit board and where the 3 lights are only one was on:huh:so what does this mean? This is all new to me and I am working on it and learning something new everyday:smt038
It is the orange light on the right side that is lite. Any ideas, do I have to turn on the 30amp switch first? will that make the light go on? Or is there something wrong?
thanks
Bob:thumbsup:

Do you have a breaker switch for each connector at the plug and are both turned on?

You need to be more descriptive...

By circuit board do you mean Breaker Panel?
By lead do you mean 30 amp power cord?

On my breaker panel the "orange light" is labeled "Reverse Polarity"
Did you make these power cords yourself?

Just trying to help

Yes it is the power cord. 3 lights on power panel 2 orange and 1 red for reverse pole. Just one orange lite on the right.
The cord came with the boat. has a Y connection on it maybe I can change where I have them in now and see if it works any better?

Assuming you have 30-amp service....

Is the Y-connector splitting to the boat or away from the boat? In other words, are you physically plugging one unit or two into the dock stem?

I expect, since your boat is a 34, you said you have "two plugs at the boat", and likely has AC, that you have two 30-amp lines coming off the boat and you are doubling them up on one stem plug. If that's the case, you may be overclocking the draw at the stem (trying to pull two 30-amp draws out of a plug that has only thirty amps to give), in which case there may not be enough power to give you the "OK" lights on your panel.

Also, previous poster's advice to check the breaker at the stem....I echo that.

The neon lights on the panel do quit from time to time. I have replaced almost all of mine. You can get them at any good electronics store or even Radio Shack.

How do you get the light bulbs out? Pull the panel or do they unscrew from the front? Also, are you talking abt the green lights or the red and orange from the shore power indicators (or both?)

Ron,
I am talking about any 110v light in the AC panel. They have a small nut on the back side of the panel. I have been splicing them in with waterproof butt connectors. I changed all of the 12 volt panel lights to LED from Radio Shack. They cost $1.99 each.

Have a safe weekend. I am leaving Sunday for Honolulu for a week with the wife.
