New to boating, have a Searay 225 Weekender (2003). Hooked up shore power but no power to battery charger or 110V AC panel. Checked fuse panel - all fuses good. What else can I check? There is power in shore power outlet. My cable looks relatively new, no tears etc

See if there is power at the boat end of your sp cord when its plugged in. Also look for a disconect switch in the boat. Also make sure you have the right cord. 30 amp vs 50 amp.

Sure but how do I check? use a volt meter? Couldnt see any switches etc which could be the culprit. Will check the Amperage of cable. Thanks will reply with an outcome.

Do you have a "ac conveter" switch on ur boat? If so, it needs to be switched on to get power and to turn on ur batt charger..

Did you add the Shore power or did the previous owner? Shore power was not available on the 225WE from Sea Ray. Better question- Is this boat new to you and has it worked before?
Makes it a little more difficult to help remotely since it is a custom job and we can't compare it to any system on our boats.

Volt meter. If there's power at the end of the cable, the problem is in the boat. You have to follow the power in until you lose voltage.

use one of those voltage detectors to see if there is power on AC cable going to battery charger.

Like Ron said, you gotta start at the inlet.
There is nothing between the shore power inlet and the panel- so if the panel is not hot, the connection at the inlet must be faulty. Perhaps one of the wires is loose- I'd pull the inlet and check the connections to the wires feeding the panel.

You said the prev owner supplied the cable (ie: it's not brand new). Any scoring on the cable connectors or at the inlet on the boat? This could indicate a fried connection that has now failed.

Boat new to me. Must have worked, it came with the power cord

Check around for another seperate Main Breaker. All of the newer Sea Rays, at least, have a MAIN breaker that is before the MAIN in the panel. On my boat, the Primary Main (if you want to call it that) is right next to the shore power inlet. The housing looks identical to the inlet plug with white hinged cover.

Is there anyway you can call the previous owner to ask them if such a breaker exists? Then just trace from there to the panel. Do you have any pics of the arrangement?
