Shipping a big boat

If I were having a boat disassembled for shipping to me I would probably find a trusted marine mechanic around where I lived and where the boat would eventually wind up, pay to fly him to where the boat is, have him disassemble it, then have him put it back together when it got to me.
Putting something back together that someone else took apart is usually a challenge.

Hell yes…. I've been putting a boat back together that I took apart and it has been a challenge. And it is only 23'.

That's exactly what I did and not only did it save me a lot of money in the reduced time it took him to reassemble everything, but I know that he did it right.

ttmott, sounds like your setup with a lot of adhesive is the same as mine was. You do know that when SR builds these boats and ships them across the country to states that do not border an ocean, that they do it by trucking them and they do that after the fly bridge has been removed?
