Our saga has finally ended. After 80 days at the dealer (dropped off on the 14th of November), all repairs are complete and I picked her up yesterday.
Repairs completed: New trailer hitch, new trailer jack, new thermostat, fixed fuel tank brackets, fixed shower sump leak and replaced all carpet in the cabin.
Also had 100 hour service performed.

So I won't recount the details here.

The Fuel Tank bracket repair was completed by replacing the screws which were too short.
Everything else looks good.

We met with the manager of MM on Tuesday the 22nd of Jan to let him know all of the issues we had with the customer service on our boat. My wife and I were both not interested in hearing excuses anymore and wanted to know what they were going to do to fix that.

Everything finally came together on Friday and I picked up the boat after a very thorough inspection. I like the new carpet and think it looks great.

In an offer to us they did not charge for the 4 plus hours of labor (@95$ per hour) for the 100 hour service.
Or for the thermostat replacement which was not covered under warranty.

I am not so much interested in apologies as I am in having them improve their customer service, because this boating thing has us hooked and as soon as we can we will be going bigger, but this whole thing has me soured on purchasing a new boat.

We have decided to document everything that occurred and send it to MM and Sea Ray.
Because the reason we bought the boat we did was for the reputation and customer service.

But then it is not all bad because we will be on the water tommorrow, which just happens to be our 2 year boating anniversary ( wife wants to know how come I remember this date...)

Those who provided input in my previous posts Thank You very much.

congrats, glad you got your boat back. I got my boat back today as well. I forgot to take pics of the fuel tank that the tank mount was broken. The only thing they did was added more screws, from 3 to 6 on each side.

I also had my annual service done on the boat. I am curious, how many hours of labor did they charge you for your service? They charged me 6 for 570 bucks. I thought it was odd.

congrats on getting your boat back. Unfortunatly from my experience with MM service they will tell you the world and offer you everything free and the next time your there your back to square one. I gave them 3 chances and all three times their fix was to make it free and even when it was free it was bad.

As for the 100hr service 570 sounds good thats about what my 100hr Service on my 06 240 Sundeck would of cost (another freebee from a previous screw up)

Also as far as mailing searay and mm when I was going through all my problems with my dealer regarding service I called both MM corporate and SeaRay and they didn't seem to really care at all.

They only care about selling boats and taking at much money away from you as possible. And when you go for service they will do everything they can to make it the worst experience you ever go through.

But who knows maybe not all of them are bad but from what I hear and have read they are all the same.

It's not *just* marine maxx. It is the format. . .

. . . .too many boaters, too much demand for "dealer" to do the work. The dealer has no incentive to perform, because there are literally DOZENS who will take your place if you walk.

. . . . service writers. Ok, service writers have their place, but part of their function is to seperate YOU from the PERSON doing the work. Also, they deflect the fact that low grade work that doesn't technically require a mercruiser tech will be performed by a minimum+ wage lackey; but you will still be billed at $95+ per hour; same as a Mercruiser tech.

. . . . which is why you probably need to get a new service option. I use a travelling mercruiser tech who works for himself, and does most work at the dock.
