Sherwood seawater pump

I have been very pleased with the Seamax pumps since installing them four seasons ago. I carry one of my old Sherwoods (rebuilt) as a spare for the starboard side - easier to swap out than R+R impeller - and carry a replacement Seamax impeller for the port.

What did the swap cost?

Can I ask what the issues are with the Sherwood pumps? We've had our 1999 450EB for a year. The port pump was leaking when we got the boat. I sent it to Depco pump and they did a great rebuild job for about $300. Reinstall it, and it has been great. Strb pump <also a pain, and better to remove the whole pump for impeller change after I remove the genset batt and genset muffler> has been great. Just impeller changes and no leaks. 912 hrs on the boat. Am I missing something?

I picked up a spare Sherwood that I need a rebuild on. Is Depco the place to send this or are there other recommendations? I can't swing the new updated ones at this time but certainly have that on the radar for my next 1.5 boat dollars.

$300 for rebuild, that's nice. I think I paid about $750 for new one.
