What is it, the phase of the moon? My girlfriend broke up with me 2 wks ago tomorrow after 4.5 yrs.

So, I'm trying to keep busy and not think about her as much as possible, I've gone back to Tae Kwon do classes, and just doing things around the house.

It's still tough though. Very tough.

(her sister and some of her girlfriends have said the same over the yrs I've known her) She said she's confused because we do have so much fun, and are so compatible in so many things and ways. She said she'd probably kick herself in the butt later on. I told her she needs to get the wall down before she feels sparks from anyone, whether it's me or not. I've taken her on 10 trips since we started dating, always bring her with me. She's gone on 10 trips she's initiated(3 to her parents in Ohio, 2 to their condo in the keys, etc. Her latest was taking her son (with her ex) to college in Myrtle Beach this August. I don't have an issue with him going, it's his son, but when I asked her if I could join her, she said her dtr wanted to make it a mother/dtr trip - however, I found out later, she/he stayed in the same hotel, and drove around all week in the same rental car - so yes, I have concerns about what went on down there then) , and never asked me to go with her on one. I brought this up, and said, that there alone shows me that she doesn't want to let me in.

Told her I loved her, always have (she doesn't like to hear that, it upsets her and makes her need space -- go figure) Told her that whoever she finds that she thinks is Mr. Right, I hope that he treats her well, and makes her happy, that it was all I wanted for her. The entire time (almost an hr), we held each other, kissed, and held hands, while she cried.

You're right. She's broken. You can't fix her. She has to fix herself or seek professional help.
 
I feel for both of you,women can be set in there ways and there is no changing that, keep up with the tae kwon do,jack, it has helped my mind and body deal with alot of problems:smt001

But, I know you're right, and pretty much told her that. Until she feels it herself, and wants to take action on it I can't do anything for her.

Hmmm... I always thought it was "if it has tits or transistors, it will cause trouble". Covers boats, cars, and just about everything else...

LOL - that's one of the trips I took her on last year, a weekend in Utah skiing Park City on Saturday and Alta on Sunday! She'd never been, I'd been there 3 times before, and loved it. She loved it too! The best part was though, that we also had a blast, just doing the simple things, cooking dinner together, sitting out on the deck, having a glass of wine or beer, visiting the local eateries, going out and spending a day on the boat, just the two of us!

I ski every weekend here, (I live 25 min's from a ski resort, and 50-75 mins from 3 or 4 others) with a couple of guys I've skied with now for almost 15 years and she and I go once or twice each year together. (She is a great skier, but only likes to ski when it's 40+ out and sunny! LOL Not a lot of that weather here, but it does happen every spring)
