Just to be contrarian (it is January, after all):

In the first video I can't help but wonder if the operator was so focused on the drone that they actually didn't see the smaller boat. Clearly this does not make that situation okay but when they show him with his arms up at the end, that doesn't scream to me "get the f out of my way". He stopped, I think he was shocked or actually a bit alarmed that he came that close. I vote "idiot" and not "inentional" without seeing the 60 seconds of video that led up to this.

In the second....pfft. Fisherman go everywhere and expect to be left alone Nav Rules state you have to pass at a safe speed and distance but they don't define that distance when both boats are under way (don't see an anchor so I'm assuming they weren't). Rude, yes, but unsafe? I don't know, maybe. I wouldn't pass that close in open water but heck, the admiral seemed amused by the whole thing. I've been overtaken at closer range in my life.

I guess I should give the fisherman in that video some credit. At least they weren't trying to block 50' of a 100' wide channel...this time

I cringed when I saw those young kids in that little boat. I can't even imagine how shaken and pissed off I'd have been had it been my family. To @Stee6043 point, I think 'idiot' is the operative word. You could see he was very startled when he saw what was happening.

These videographers and drone operators are totally enabling the dumbass in people looking for their pathetic 15 seconds of glory.

Agree he probably didn't "see" the smaller boat with his bow up like that. But WTF, he should be looking. I assume they are headed in to an inlet. Lots of traffic, key watch, ahole.

The fishing boat, it was a dick move. I had a guy do that coming out of my marina. Jackass couldn't wait a few more seconds to open the gap and overtake me. Instead, throttles up, and tosses us around something fierce.

I don't know...I can't help but wonder how parents can blame Zuckerburg or any of those other CEO's when they are the ones that 1.) bought the kids their devices, 2.) paid the monthly fees that enabled them to use those devices, 3.) allowed them to download the apps and 4.) probably let them spend 12 hours a day on the devices consuming that social media.

It's no different than blaming the CEO of Smith & Wesson for mass school shootings, IMO.
