Since we're so close to getting the boat back, I want to take her out, dirty or not, for an overnighter, shake down cruise.
My Daughter has a Dance competition on Jan 19th in Burien.

So I have contacted the DesMoines marina and checked the availability of guest moorage spaces for Jan 19th. It sounds like there is plenty of room. Anyone else considering a boat trip overnighter even though it's January?

This will be a good chance for us to do a shake-down cruise.

I'm thinking about Trailering to Shilshole or 14th Ave in Ballard and come through the locks, then head down.

Let me know, it'd be fun to meet a few fellow CSR's

Sounds like fun, but my boat is not ready for the water, and the passes have not been real friendly lately. But keep the suggestions coming. I might bite on one. I would like to know how to get into Puget Sound without submerging the trailer in salt water.

A new marina is being built in Bremerton, by the ferry dock. Supposedly it will have a lot of guest moorage. It is almost within walking distance of my sisters house.

Well Dave I'm glad you can't make it as I can't either. We're going to go out for the day Sunday but we are just running out of time for the overnighter.

We'll be at Seattle's Bell Harbor for the 26th as an adult's only overnighter. attending the boat show

Nehalennia- I'm glad to hear you just about have her ready to hit the water! Man you must be excited after all you have been through!

I'll be up in Seattle with the GF attending the boat show. We'll be staying at the courtyard on Lake Union. You going to the in-water or the arena show? Got to love the 75-100' yachts! One must dream!

Hey Stuart,
Thanks. Yes we're very excited. We are going to the arena show. See the link on Seattle Boat Show Meet us(close to 26 now) at 4PM have a brew or three, then we'll go to the show.

Mo and I and maybe a couple others are staying at Bell Harbor marina on the boat, Saturday night.
Hope you can join us.

Todd- I will keep the brew invite in mind. We are not sure if we are doing the in-water show first and the arena show Sunday or vice versa. I think it will depend on the weather.

Area 26 at 4pm Sat. If we are in the area I will definitely stop by! If we don't hook up, enjoy the show!

Todd, I read your first post and had to go back and re-read it. They have space in Des Moines.... in January.....really? I was thinking Iowa. Now that I read the rest of the posts it makes sense.

Yeah Sorry, I forget about Des Moines Iowa, even though it's more famous.

That's Tee shirt weather isn't it? Didn't get above -10F today and they say cold weather is coming. I better look for my jacket. Boating seems along way away right now.

It was 10 below Zero in my garage this morning....I have a gallon jug of RV antifreeze on my bench. It went from a liquid to a slush. Only boats on the lake are Ice Boats, which actually looks kinda fun.

At the Des Moines Marina they will sling your boat from the trailer and plop it in the water. No salt water on the trailer.
