Shaft coupler set screws - where to find?

Anyone know where I can find the 3/8-16 square head bolts with the hole drilled for the safety wire? I can only find ones in 5/8 length, and the ones I removed are more like 1.5". Aside from perhaps best practice, the old ones don't seem to want to thread back in, given what they went through previously.

A note to others who may order set screws from above.. not all of the set screws are drilled, even though the pictures depict them being drilled. The notes section reads 'Setscrews are unavailable with drilled heads unless otherwise shown' which may lead you to think they are drilled, given the picture clearly shows them being drilled. However, if you look at other thread sizes/lengths set screws, you might see the following 'Come with drilled heads. Setscrews are unavailable with drilled heads unless otherwise shown' - which means that specific size is really drilled.

Two shipments later -- first one, they shipped the wrong size / wrong length... second one, right size/length, no safety wire hole, and something similar to a black oxide coating (vs zinc in the description) -- I'm still on the hunt.

This place seems to have them. Had to email them for thread size, and they confirmed 3/16-18, but no length mentioned. Picture looks to be 1-1/2" or so.

Sorry to hear that.

I don’t imagine that drilling them oneself would be too much trouble since they’re not grade 8 though.

Its the tiny bit to drill them out - and not breaking it which worries me. I have a drill press, and was watching the bit wander around. I’ll try using a center punch and see if that keeps things inplace long enough to get the bit started.

I know what you mean.

I’d chuck the bit as far in as you can to lessen its flexibility and might even snap it in half to shorten it further if needed.
