Service for my Sea Ray

Others will chime in on this, but my hunch is that its alot like having your car worked on. Simple services can be done at your marina by the local mechanic, probably cheaper than going to the dealer, but you usually get what you pay for. The guy who has gone to the trouble to get certified at least showed some level of initiative. It also depends on the dealership and mechanic...so get some referrals from locals, start small and see where it goes.

On our sized boats, the engine is not proprietary...so if you are a certified Mercruiser mechanic, you ought to be able to handle it regardless of what primary types of boats you work on. On electrical or systems work, I am probably going to haul mine to the dealer.

Welcome aboard and post some pics!

Yeah, your advice is what I figured. But you seem to know a lt, so keep it coming.

Yours is a 2008, 350mag. That's great. My new to me boat is 1 2003 5.0l (260hp), with similar coloring as yours. I will post photos soon, as soon as I figure out how.

Do you use that sport rack much? How much was it to install?

Thx again,
