Does anyone know the conversion number or store to buy it at for a serpentine belt, Mercruiser number 57-865615Q02. Trying to save some money by going to an auto parts store. It is for 2003 8.1 MPIs.
Thanks,
Mark

Your best bet is gong to be to take the belt to a store and have them match it up - this is a case where you can definitely use an automotive part. Probably not going to find any conversion information, my experience is except for NAPA most auto parts stores eyes glaze over when you mention boat. NAPA, at least in my area has a pretty good marine section.

I use NAPA, as well. It can be cross-referenced to automotive... like a Gates, for example.

I had NAPA cross reference mine also which is 106" long after going thru a couple I went with the Goodyear Gator belt they work well and last. AutoZone has a great return & warranty policy.

I believe it is 2285MM long, so crosses to Gatorback 4060900. Please verify before you purchase though.

X2 on the Gator belt - they are strong, last long and do not squeak.

Mark -

I came up with the same interchange. Its a 90" (2285mm) belt with 6 ribs.

Dayco is a 5060900
Napa is a 25-060900
Gates is a K060900
Goodyear is a 4060900

I would verify the part at the store - they have a gauge to measure. If not run a string along the belt route and measure. There is usually enough play in the tensioner if your are close.

Just had to do this with my 5.0L Merc

Anyone notice a lot more "shavings" in the bilge when using a gator belt? Seems like i noticed after I installed them. Maybe it was just wearing in?

The reason you might see some belt dust is the Gator belt has a drive surface on the flat side that is not smooth like a normal belt if the belt slips any on that surface it will give off some dust instead of squealing like the glazed surface of any other belt, usually means the belt needs to be tightened.

I've been thru this a few times with several boats a 6pk2655 would be 104.527" , 6= 6 ribs, pk is Poly K series , 2655 = 2655mm

Here's a link to PK 6 ribs belt cross reference bando, napa, goodyear etc.
