Have 8.1 Horizons.
My belt broke. I have a replacement.
Looked for one of the pulleys with loosen the circuit so I can get the belt on, but none have it.

How in the world do you get this thing on???? Argh!

On my boat the alternator has an adjustment screw on bottom. Loosen top bolt first and you should see the adjuster parallel to boat bottom.

my 7.4 horizons had a small pulley that looks like it does nothing but guide belt to next pulley, but actually is tensioner. loosen the large nut in center then turn the bolt the nut tightens on, this will move pulley up and down to tension belt.

This depends on what engine serial number your engine is as they (Mercruiser) have had a few different belt adjustment designs over the years. The one in the "How To" link posted earlier seems it could be a little confusing as the OP (Hampton) says in his details he has an 2008 44 Sedan Bridge with an Cummins QSC-500's Straight Drives but below in his signature line he (Hampton) had an 2005 340 SD most likely with the 8.1 like he was working on. If so yours should/could/m ay be of a different design than Hampton's.
2008 44 Sedan Bridge - Shell's Island II - Our awesome 44!
2005 340 Sundancer - Shell's Island - The perfect 340! - TRADED!
1997 250 Sundancer - Hampton's Inn - SOLD!

Though most probable, the following link/info below may be out of your serial number range as you "show" (but didn't mention) you have an 2008 year model but the info inside may help give an idea of how to check the belts alignment to "possibly" see why the belt may have broke should there be something out of adjustment from possibly a previous service due to Misplaced washer, etc.. outside of just old age on the belt's part.
