Aloha~

I recently purchased a 1987 Sundancer 270 with twin Mercruiser 205's. She has been sitting in a slip in Honolulu Hawaii for the past 3-4 years with out running.... Sadly... I have tried to manually turn the crankshaft to no end, but it's stuck. I have removed the plugs on the port engine, squirted 3 cans of heavy duty lube/penatrating fluid, but no luck. Anyuone have any tricks before I resign to the daunting task of tearing it apart?

In that environment, its probably going to need a tear down even if you can break it free. Theres just too much humidity in the are without any water intrusion. If you did manage to get it to turn, the rings will never seal right. Id check the manifolds/risers on both engines with that much salt water time without use.

First, take the boat out of the water and pull the outdrive. Then see if the motor will spin. There are many outdrive problems that can prevent the motor from turning, even in neutral.

If the prop spins freely would that mean the outdrive isn't an issue?
