Has anyone installed wood flooring on the interior of their boat (either person DIY project or through a vendor). If so, I'm looking for advice on either installing the flooring myself or hiring someone in the Baltimore area.

Same for interior fabric. Need to replace ALL interior fabric because we're purchasing a boat from someone who owned a dog . . . a very large dog. So has anyone done this as a DIY project or hired someone in the Baltimore area?

The boat is a 1990 350 Sundancer.

Thanks for any advice and feedback you can provide!!

Non exactly in your area  but I have just finished a complete refit of my 390 of the same year as yours. You may want to give a look at my thread and get some ideas!

Welcome to the club! Here you will find many proud owner who have been through a refitting/restoration project.

Thanks so much. Can't wait to read everyone's advice and see what people have done.

I put a solid Teak/Holly hardwood in my cabin. Myself and a buddy did it in 1 FULL day. Results have been great!! We ave two dogs that are on board with us and cleaning up hair, spills, etc is soooo much easier now! Not to mention I believe it will help with resale value. I highly recommend it to anyone who is thinking about it!!

So give us some specifics. Carpet removal, individual pieces vs. plywood, finish, photos? Inquiring minds want to know.

The carpet that was there was already replacement carpet that was just cut and laid, so pulling the carpet was a breeze! It is individual tongue and groove boards, alternating between Teak boards and Maple strips. Each piece was glued and nailed. Finish was sand, poly, poly, sand and poly. So far it has been great and has been the envy of all my dock neighbors. I only have the one poor quality photo for now, but I will try and bring the camera for some additional if anyone wants to see them.

Yes, please send more pics! Is this NuTeak flooring? What quantity was required?

Has anyone replaced the fabric on the interior -- specifically the settee, master berth "wall" cushioning, aft cabin? What about the lining in the boat? Is that going to be ridiculously expensive?

I will take some more this weekend. I'm personally not familiar with NuTeak, this is solid hard wood.

I did my floor this past spring.
Tore out the carpet and stairs.
Built new stairs out of Jatoba Brazillian Cherry.
Installed Schon Engineered 5/16 Brazillian Cherry 4" Wide.
It is glued down with the perimeter nailed.
Cherry 'T' Molding around the sump access.

I think it looks great!
Real update on the interior.
Here is a link to Photobucket Pictures.

Good Luck

Wow! Your floor looks beautiful. Nice job. I am not handy AT ALL. So installing my own floor is probably not an option. It would most likely wind up looking worse! I wish I had your talent. I'm going to try to find someone that can do this for us. Wish me luck.

Good Luck at it!
And yes it did take some time.
Not absolutely a perfect job, but no one has seen my mistakes ..... yet!

The are up forward at the V-Berth, hanging lockers and cabin door took
about 6 hours of measuring, cutting and fitting before the actual install.

Three different sets of curves
Aggggghhh!

But well worth the effort.

Oh! My! God! What a BEAUTIFUL job you did on your boat! I love your interior color scheme (which I think I might need to steal from you). Thanks for sharing. Wish you were closer so I could see it in person!
