I am making reservations for breakfast and dinner for the Seattle Boat Show on Jan 22. Anyone wanting to join the IboatNW crowd for either or both venues, let me know so I can do a count for reservations. A maybe is fine...

Info:
For the Boat Show... We will do Breakfast at IHOP, 950 East Madison St, at 8:30 AM

Boat show starts at 10AM.

Dinner at BluWater Bistro, 101 Fairview Ave, at 5:00 PM. NOTE: Bluwater is a few yards from the in-water boat show and has said that they will not take a bunch of credit cards so bring cash to pay your portion of the bill. If you decide to pay by CC, you will be counting the cash from the others and paying the final bill. They are requesting 18% tip due to a large group... so factor that in. Last year was great!

Please let me know who is attending breakfast and who is attending dinner so I can make reservations for both venues...

Doug and Lea will be at both venues...

That sounds like a lot of fun.... I will be close, Tacoma, for my patriotic duty. Too bad I work until 4pm.

I'd love to, but I think my son will have his wisdom teeth pulled a few days prior. I doubt the admiral would allow me to attend.

We won't be going to the boat show this year. We already have a boat, don't need another, and have prior scheduled events both weekends of the show. Dang, I hate it when that happens. We're now retired and could attend mid-week but won't be able to go. Sucks.

Hey Go Aweigh, we, wife and I, are "maybe" for both if you're sure that works okay for now.

D-Sill-D Thanks, I'll add you both the the count just in case... It was fun last year talking boats (the IBoatNW crowd is a mix of different model/make boats)...

That would be a nice one to go to but I am hoping to splash the new girl and bring her to her new berth that day!

So far we have 17 for breakfast (counting 3 maybe's) and 14 dinner (counting 3 maybe's)...

Good group, great fun...

Change one.... BluWater Bistro called me to tell me that they are closing the Lake Union restaurant...

We now have reservations at Daniels Steak house 809 Fairview Place North right in front of the in water boat show at 5PM...

Heading there on Sunday, sure hope it will not be down-scaled and disappointing like the Portland show was last weekend.

had a great time at breakfast. What a crew! The show was good, however the Admiral and I both agree the Miami is still the best! Thanks Doug!

Saw the 3 boats I wanted to see:

1. Grand Banks Aleutian 53RP
2. Meridian 58 and 441
3. Sea Ray 55 Sundancer

More pics.

Yeah the GB is my dream boat at 2.4 mil. This is the only Aleutian RP on the west coast and it is already sold.

The socker was the price they wanted for this 2008 55 Sundancer.....:smt009:wow:

I would have to be honest we saw a lot of other boats for less money, more bells and whistles with the same engines.

More:

They showed the plane on the back of a boat with the wings folded. Lots and lots of boats, but not a lot of gizmos.

They had the Sea Ray, Meridian and Bayliners all next to each other.

Now for this price the meridian has the Zeus drives and really wasn't a bad looking boat.

Looking down the walk way at the docks.

The admiral and Mt. Ranier (sp)

The main differance I guess between a boat show like this and the Miami boat show was the manufactures where at the Miami show to sell to boat manufatures so I am told.

Still the Seattle boat show was a lot of fun and we did see some new stuff like folding crab pots that was staored in a bag like you would a folding chair. We are also having a guy coming down to measure the V-berth for a mattress that we are going to have made.

Thanks again to Doug the rest of the gang at IHOP.

It was great meeting and seeing everyone. We had a good time but did not buy anything. Those folding crab traps are great. We carry one with us and it is really holding up great. Not one spec of rust in two years use...

Couple of photos of the show and breakfast (before you got there)...

You missed an awesome dinner at Daniels Steak House. Service was top notch and the steaks were awesome...

Got me in the mood for salmon this evening so we cooked up a couple of steak filets we caught at Ucluelet last summer (we vacuum packed all 200 pounds of salmon and butt)...

There were a lot more boats and vendors not selling sham wows. It was refreshing and the biggest show I have seen there the past 4 years at least. You'll have fun. The seminar on Desolation and Broughton Islands was well done. I did not attend any others but suspect they were done well too as I saw they were full each time I walked by...

I stopped by many of the marina kiosks and got some free stay overs by saying hi and showing interest...

Looked like some good deals on the marine stores as they were packed with people in line to buy stuff...

Have fun...

next boating event is the official Opening day of boating season...

I got home and went on my boat and started to do some small maintenance things...
