Seating capacity?

My guess is that boat is "yacht certified" leaving the exact number of guests at the captain's descretion. Larger boats normally don't give a limit to the number of people aboard.

Unless a "placard" was removed...my boat doesn't have a capacity labeled but I like to limit it to 6 including myself

340 is yacht certified. No placard. Captains discretion. I have had 12 people but boy it did not like getting on plane.

The more people you have on board, the more distractions you have. I have also found that confusion, noise, and damage to the boat, is exponentially related to the number of children under 12, particularly if you give everyone the run of the cabin. If you can't make yourself understood in a normal speaking voice, then rein in the visitors, assign seats, or head to the dock and unload some of them.

Let common sense be your guide.

We had 22 guests on board for last year's Christmas Boat Parade and it didn't seem overly crowded. Many were down in the salon, several chose to sit in the cockpit and there were about 8-10 upstairs at any given time. They were all having quiet conversations with a few loud bursts of laughter, but other than that it was pretty quiet.

When we have guests on board I usually give a turn at the helm for any who want it. I'm always right there keeping a close eye on things. They enjoy it A LOT, it gives me a break so I can get off my butt and stand for a few minutes, and a good time is had by all.
