Hi, I am looking for suggestions.

I love my 225 Weekender, but there is one thing I don't like about it. The passenger seat faces forward and is fixed. There are no rear-facing seats.

I noticed that starting in 2004, the 225 Weekender comes with back-to-back seats for the passenger. Does anyone know where I could find these and how difficult it would be to swap them, or if it's even possible?

Here are a couple of pics:

I would also be interested in knowing if there are any other options?

Thanks!

Starting in 2001 the weekender had a back to back seat option with base. I was looking for a bolster seat for my boat. If you were ever to switch over I would be interested in buying your seat . thanks john.

Thanks for the info. If I can find this option and it's possible and not too expensive I will be switching it over.

I guess I'll start with a call to my local Sea Ray dealer.

The back to back lounge seat was an option. We have the same seating arrangement as you in our 215WE. We preferred that set up because we wanted extra room in the cockpit.

We usually store coolers under the jump seats on each side of the engine compartment. When extra seating is needed, we place them behind the helm seat and/or passenger seat and place cushions on top.

I have to tell you, we rarely need the extra seating. We have had up to four teenagers on board with the admiral and I, and there was plenty of room. When we are anchored, there are usually a couple of people sitting on the swim platform (wish we had the extended platform that is standard on the 225).

If you find a 225 that is being parted out and you take the seat, let me know if it has the extended swim platform. I've looked at swimplatforms.com, but I don't care for the extra supports that are needed for their style.

Thanks for the info. I am not looking to do this to add seating. I simply would like a rear facing seat. We spend a lot of time beached on the St Croix river (as shown in sig pic) and I would like to be able to kick back and relax and watch the boats go by behind us. I do sit on the cushions on the upper portion of the swim platform, with my feet on the extended portion. This works, but having the option of sitting in the boat would be nice too.

I like the idea of the coolers though. I am going to have to try that.

You may want to look at this seating arrangement in person before you buy unless you have already done so. I was absolutely determined to do the same thing you are looking to do and then saw a 225 in person with that arrangement and did not care for the size or comfort of the seats not to mention loosing the flip up bolster. Not to say it is a bad option but be sure it is what you really want.

WOW, I just read this thread and am reminded how badly I need to find a new owner for one of my previous boats. It looks much like the 225, it is a '98 215EC deep-v with under 200 hours on it.... I guess I need to list it somewhere around here for sale.

x2 on the cooler cushion idea - Igloo has some great marine coolers with snap on vinyl cushions. Works great if you need that additional seating or if you beach somewhere and have a picnic on shore.
