Bought my '94 220BRSS a few weeks ago. Seat is very sloppy (rocks back and forth and side to side) in the vertical post. It almost looks as though there might be a sleeve or bushing missing, or something. Seat goes up and down just fine but the higher it is, the less stable. I read elsewhere in this forum where someone placed plastic cable ties into the ribs but I have to believe that there is a better and more permanent solution. I have searched the internet for a diagram or parts list but can't find anything. SeaRay site has documents but doesn't address the seat structure (looks like it might be a Garelick seat). I'd hate to spend hundreds of dollars to replace the mount. Any thoughts on a fix?

Welcome to CSR. If you could post a picture of the mount you might get a better response. If I am understanding what you said, you have a pedestal which rocks in each end of the mount? You could cut out a can and wrap the post then insert it back in the mount and clamp it down.

Might be worth it for a new setup, you don't want your seat collapsing while your underway.

You're right, there shoul be a plastic "cup" that fit's over the post / inside the spider assembly. They are typically either white or black. They do wear out overtime and the previous owner probably just tossed it and learned to live with the wobble. If you have a passenger-side bucket, you can steal it from there for the time being. It's been a long time since I ordered one of these and I don't recal if I got it through one of my suppliers or if I contacted Garelick. I'd say start with Garelick.
