Seat cushions

My new 280 SunSport, has the u-shaped seating. Evidently the PO climbed over one particlar cushion to get in and out of the boat, and the seam has about a 2" split in it. The piping also has a smaill split too. A local upholstery place wants to replace the cushion, which means that all of the cushions would need to be replaced to be a perfect match. The seats don't appear to be that bad, but I don't want to have a mismatch either.

What are the best options to repair / replace the cushions?

Does Sea Ray still sell the cushions from 2000?

It's amazing that what seems to be a small repair turns out to be a major project.

If they do replace the cushions, make sure they use closed cell foam.....

Have a vinyl repair service look at it. Very likely it can be fixed at your house for around $100 in under an hour.

Please let me know what you find out. Just today I destroyed my 2000 210 BR rear bench cushion. I had the vacuum cleaner on top while using the attachment hose to clean the battery compartment. Well, the brushes were still rotating on the vacuum which I had on the seat. Awesome. Totally ripped up the vinyl. We're going to call the Sea Ray dealer tomorrow to see if we can order the original vinyl. In the meantime we're searching to see what anyone else has been able to do about it. Good luck!

Luckily, my problem was only a small seam. A local shop had to take it apart to repair it. It cost 2 hrs labor = $170.

In your case, I would look on Ebay (longshot), or try fpmarine.com, then the dealer.

Hello i wonder if you can help me? I just bought a 2000 280ss and the three middle u seat bottom cshions are missing. the two ends are there and have a wood bottom because they cover the storage . are the middle cushions made with wood bases also or just all foam? alse where do you try to replace them. sea ray probably wants a fortune. Thanks Rob
