Sears Diehard Battery Warranty ISSUE!

Currently, I have 3 of these:

It says west marine on them.
East Penn is one of the handful of major battery makers. It sells batteries to retailers, like West Marine, who put their names (or a licensed brand like Duracell) on them. Identical batteries can be had at different prices (and warranties) if the underlying supply chain is understood.

Believe the same is true for Interstate... Made by Johnson Controls... also makes the Kirkland battery for Costco

Optima D31M's? I'm torn between those and the Sears DieHard Platinum 31's. Their specs are more impressive than Optima's.

Optima Bluetop D31M are only 75 Ah - and not "real" AGM but proprietary Spiral technology. In my experience they do not like heat very much. The best battery you can buy for your boat is Lifeline AGM's. My previous sailboat had Bluetops in - lasted for 2 years and died. I replaced them with 2 Lifeline's and they are still running strong now 7 years later.

The PO of my boat put Bluetops in (2 years ago) and after the summer I'll replace them with Lifelines. They are already showing their age - and for the Weight vs Ah - I would get so much more from Lifeline in terms of capacity per LBS. Plus a 5 year prorated warranty is rather nice...

I purchased 8 AGMs from Sears.....I had one go bad at 2yrs 11.5 months. Took it back to store and they replaced it no questions asked. They even were nice enough to find the paper work when I purchased them. Must be the store you are dealing with.
