hello fellow boaters, we have a 2002 SeaRay Sedan Bridge 480 and we are looking to replace the interior carpet in the salon and bedrooms. Can we just go to a carpet store and put indoor carpet down? I got an estimate from Home Depot that was reasonable and I talked to their 'marine' installer and he swears he's done this many times and it's the way to go. I've looked at 'marine' rubber backed carpet and it isn't plush and doesn't have the quality look of the carpet that came with the boat. Has anyone replaced carpeting in such a boat and how did it work out? hate to spend the money and make a mistake. thanks Cindy

Regular interior carpeting is ok, but I'd shy away from folks that sell price. By the best heaviest carpet you can find that suits you. The installation is difficult and involved and that plus the removal of the old carpeting is going to be the majority of the cost so you don't want to trade low when you go thru this process.

Corinthian does have a very good interior glue down carpet.
