Hi - I have a 2009 Searay 210 Select with Merc MPI with B3 drive and smartcraft instruments (std + mercmonitor)
I am reasonable at mechanics but better with a multimeter...
I have 2 relatively new batteries. Both kept at constant 12.6volt plus via solar charger - so batteries are in great condition.
Recently my Perko (crap) battery switch broke.
After fixing "The Percrap" switch I noticed that my voltage indication on my "engine bus" vs my accessories bus are different. I get a stable 12.6-12.8 on accessories bus but only 10.5-11.5volt on the Merc bus with "Starter Switch" in ON (prior to start).
Here are my debug completed so far
1. Not blown MCU - with that disconnected still low volts
2. Not relays (Starter, Fuel and Master) - still low volt with them disconnected
3. Not SmartCraft instruments - still low volts with all instruments off the Merc harness.
4. Not transom harness related - still low volts with transom disconnect
5. Not Bilge pump
6. Not bilge blower (that is broken anyway and fuse is out)
7. Not NMEA-2000 bus
8. Not Mercathode - feed directly from battery and shows full 12.6-12.8 v
Killing relay for Mercbus on engine - restores 12.6 volt on the feed side of the relay - but takes all power off the merc bus of course.
So have any of you seen this issue before?
I'm running out of ideas and patience..
Boat runs fine with and starts fine. It is just not running on the right voltage... And with alternator charge it shows 14.3-14.7 volt.
The good thing is every contact is getting cleaned and so far it stopped the false readings on my Dept Gauge. due to the guys who put the harness on had not been careful so the moisture insulator there was bent in to the connector leaving a big gap. That of course started a corrosion process.
Any help is more than welcome
/Kasper
