Anyone tried this stuff? I am interested in installing on my swim platform as we do a lot of wakeboarding and I think it would be much more comfortable. Not to mention safer..... Any advice is appreciated.

thanks
JL

I just put it on our non SeaRay boat for the very reason you mentioned. We've been on the water once with it and loved it. I think the grip is better when its wet. A bit pricey I thought but I think we'll enjoy it. I've read about some customer service issues but I was completely satisfied with my experience. I'd do it again in a minute.

I just got mine in the mail. I did a custom order, made the templates and added some Sea Ray logo's on it. I'll get it installed when I get back home in a few days. I like the texture so far and looks like it will last like flip flop shoes. I'll see how easy or hard it is to install.

Sea Dek is an easy company to work with, so far. I like the quality, but it is expensive. I chose the Titanium faux teak, I think it will look great. I'll post pic's when I get it installed. Mike

Mike, I found an installation video on their blog that's different from their instructions and it really helped. Before you start, turn the pad over and use a razor knife to cut the backing down the middle. Don't remove any of the backing but peel up one corner. Then put the pad on your platform and tape it down where you want it. Use lots of tape so it doesn't move. Remove the tape from one side and lift that side and remove the backing from the middle. Press the pad down from the middle while the other half is still taped in place. When you have the first half down, the other half is even easier. The whole thing was very easy to me. Good luck with it.
Sorry to hijack the thread.

I installed my Sea Dek non-slip today. Thanks hpeeler for the advise. It went on much easier than I thought it would. The pads fit like a glove. Between my templates and Sea Deks computer cutter we did a great job. I like it! The swim platform is an add on. I got the platform from a friend of mine, and we cut it to fit my 240da. Here are the pics.

Hey Mike,
When are the Carolina Boaters going to get to see it?

It's my last week of outage work, then it's off to the beach (Myrtle Beach) for a week of golf over Mem Day, then I'm open to suggestions! haha

I need a good long boat trip to settle my nerves. What have we got comming up? I'm game for the summer.

Oppps, sorry for the hyjack.

Here are the helm pads I had made for my boat. Don't have installed pictures yet but they look great and do help smooth out the ride while standing on them.

Thanks Marshall, we worked hard on it.
I wanted to have a grab hold for when I'm floating in the water, or a good place to tie rafts and floats to the boat when at the sand bar. It seems everything likes to float away. It really finishes off the look too, make's it look high end.

How about Bald Head Island? I would like to put in at Georgetown, make a run up to Murrell's inlet for some seafood & whatever. Then the next day make the run up to Bald Head Island. I can go just about anytime this summer. Give me some possible dates. I posted on Facebook @ Carolina Boaters.

Hey that sounds like a good trip. Sadler was going to do a trip like that once. I don't know if he did it. If he didn't, I bet he would come along also.

Anyways, would you want to run outside or inside? Outside to Murrells isn't bad, just run along the beach. The ICW through there is just beautiful till you get to the ditch part in Myrtle Beach section.

Ah jeeze, SORRY....Hyjacking again! I'll "talk" to you about the trip on our facebook page. Mike

Thank you for the feedback. I think I will definitely look into adding this. The pics look great. One more question..... Can anyone use the SeaRay logos that were used in the pics above or do I need special permission?

thanks again

JL

Good question, I didn't exactly ask if Sea Dek has/had permission, or if it is necessary. I would think Sea Ray wouldn't scoff at the idea as long as it isn't represented as a Sea Ray product, and I don't make any money from the use of it. I further would think Sea Ray would enjoy the benefits of free advertising! haha

Anyways, I like it and feel the Sea Dek product is a quality product and will last with proper care. Thanks Mike

Further, now that I have done the template for a 240da, I would think one could call Sea Dek and order from "my" templates, pads for their boat. Don't quote me on that, that's what I think.
