So I am in the process of (kind of) removing, cleaning and or replacing if ness. and repairing the gel coat around all 4 of the seacock / ball valves on this 88 300 Weekender. Two for the engines, One for the Genny and one up front for the AC.
Before I really screw up something, Can someone shed some light on the removal of these from the hull?
On 2 of them, they have bronze strainers attached to the hull, covering them. Simple matter of removing the wood screws and the thru hull is exposed.
On the insde, at the base of the valve, there are a couple of screws, I suppose, to keep it from rotating. After I remove those, does the valve body unscrew from the thru-hull? What happens if the thru hull is seized up on the threads and will only twist in the hull?
I haven't done that yet but just checking first
