sea water pump

Hey all, I am installing my new 7.4 into my 96 Sea Ray Sundancer 250 that I removed last fall. I am having a problem determining witch location to put the hoses on the sea water pump. All the pictures I look at show them in either location? Hoping somebody can help me out!

So I tried to put the intake hose on the lower port, it does fit, however, if it belonged there, the hose would have witness marks where it contacts the engine mount. If I put it on the top position it fits rather well. I was looking on line and I did find a picture of the hose locations. The locations differ depending on if you have a mechanical fuel pump/sea water pump or just a sea water pump. My system has a mechanical pump with non cool fuel system. Still going to look around a bit before I secure it for good

Thanks Bt Doctur. Like I said, after looking at the hose there would definitely be some kind of witness marks from rubbing on the mount. I'm going with the top location and I can always pull the other hose off when its running just to make sure the water is pumping.

My 1995 design 7.4L seawater/fuel pump combo has the raw water enter the top fitting.
I would guess yours is the same.
