Question, I have a 1996 33 Dancer with MPI Big Blocks and the combination sea water Fuel Pump. I recently replaced my impellors and changed the oil in the Fuel Pump, all was well. A recent bilge inspection showed the Starboard Fuel pump leaking oil. It looks as if it is coming from the seal on the shaft between the fuel pump and the impellor based on where the drip forms. Looking into service parts it looks as if I can only purchase an entire assembly? The part number for the assembly is 46-807151A8 ($500 +) and includes the impellor, housing, etc.
Is this true or can the seal be replaced (A random search in the internet did not help much)
Any advice would be appreciated.
(Removed from General Repair, added to Gas Engines/drives/etc.)
