Good day all.
I have a 2006 Amberjack V-Drives. One of the high pressure steering lines is damaged and in need of replacement. Both ends are disconnected and all zip tie hangers that I can see have been cut. I’m only trying to remove one line. I've made some attempts to pull the line through but there seems to be some resistance in "no mans land" where it enters and goes on top of the starboard fuel tank and heads towards the helm. I haven't given up yet but I'm looking to see if anyone has had experience with removing these lines and if there's any tricks of the trade that would make things a little easier. Thanks for any in put provided.

When you do get it to move, either pull the new through as you pull the old out, or at least pull a rope/wire so you can pull the new through.

Thanks Jim G. However I just came in from working on it with a friend. The outcome is Sea Ray did a wonderful job securing the hoses. So good that they put zip hangers in locations with no access. My only choice is to abandon the old lines and find a new path. I ran some wires before from the engine compartment so that’s the route I’ll have to take.
Thanks for the reply.

Yeah, SR has it easy - they do all that before the top and bottom half of the boat are put together!

Certainly nothing wrong with leaving the old one there. But if you wanted to, and haven't tried already, you may be able to get some good access by removing the stbd side mid-berth wall. They're usually not all that hard to remove and only held on with a few screws around the perimeter that you can feel for through the vinyl (and carefully untuck the vinyl there to expose the screw head). Sometimes you have to remove other things, first - but sometimes you get lucky and only need to remove the one you're after.
