I have some questions about the Sea Ray Systems Monitor.

Is it normal for the display 'All Systems Normal' to flash off and on or should it be a static display? When there was an audible alarm for the forward sump the message flashed so quickly it took several times before I could actually read the message. This doesn't seem normal that the message wouldn't remain displayed.

On our trip home Monday there was an audible alarm and a 'port engine' and 'starboard engine' message ... it never displayed long enough to read the entire message. There weren't any alarms on the SmartCraft display and all analog system gauges read normal.

Does this sound like a bad Systems Monitor? I hate to take the boat in for service when nothing appears to be wrong other than a wonky Systems Monitor.

Any feedback would be appreciated.

When mine started acting up a few years ago it turned out to be a faulty sensor. Pretty easy to replace.

If you find it's failing and you do have to get a new Systems monitor you have to buy them from a Sea Ray dealer. They are still a stocked part and still used on the new line of boats. They are a little under $800.

When I start my boat, it shows, if I'm remembering correctly a quick alarm when starting each engine. For the "forward sump" that, for me, is my air conditioning water and the pump briefly sticks (no audible alarm) and when it pumps out the water, the :"message" goes off. It usually happens when I start off-plane and I assume the water is draining to that particular pump. That's since I bought the boat in 2007... But as far as the display goes, when running, it always shows "all systems normal".

Did you figure out it was a faulty sensor on your own or did you have to take it in for service? If you did it yourself, what did you do/look for? Did you just replace a sensor or the whole systems monitor?

I had the same issue. A Searay rep suggested that I press and hold the alarm silence button on the monitor. Hold for about 10 seconds. I believe this is a re-set function. Worked for me. Also, make sure the wires and coax to the back of the monitor are tight.
Good luck!!!
