Went to the Lewisville Marinemax and went about this beauty with the wife. Has the Zues pod drives, Auto trim Tabs and is as beautiful as she looks. Sales guy said suggested list is 800K but around $650K would take it. One of only 5 in the world. Nice boat to retire in Seattle on....

Nice boat. Still overpriced, in this market IMHO, at $650k.

A friend of mine just picked up a 43 Azimut Flybridge for $625k brand new. Damn nice boat.

If I had the $$ and moreso, inclination, I'd pick up the new 540 Sundancer as featured in the recent Power & Motoryacht.

Only 5 in the world? That must tell you something since Sea Ray is a volume builder.

My slip neighbor just took delivery of one. It took about 3 weeks to get it all sorted out. All the bolts on the pods had to be changed out since the original ones that were spec'd were prone to shearing. The only option he didn't get was the hydraulic swim platform. It is a nice looking boat, but seems cramped inside for my taste. But, since I don't have $650K kicking around, I guess my tastes are meaningless. I'll try to get some pics.

I looked at the 43 at the Palm Beach boat show and was smitten. The MSRP on that boat is double what it should be.

I love the boat but it's not worth near what Sea Ray says it is...to most people any way.

Maybe that's why they only built 5.

I don't think I'm buying the only 5 number. Maybe only 5 with those exact options. I've seen 2 different ones and I've got to think there are more than 3 I haven't seen.

You're probably right... BS sales talk to get you to buy a "limited edition"... seen it all before. :smt021 :smt043

An Azimut for $625K I'll take that over the Sea Ray...

Yeah... Retirement 6 months in Dallas and live in Seattle during the summer... on a nice resale 43' plus boat .... :grin:perfect. Too cold and rainy the other months... the admiral grew up there.

I am going to buy the other three that haven't been spoken for. :wow::wow:

You don't even have to drive far to get it Dave, there's one down here in Wrightsville Beach

I have personally been on 3 and saw another one yesterday in Burnham Harbor. That makes 4 that I know of....

I personally like the older 410 and 420/44 a lot better.

I'm guessing you spend a lot of time on Texoma. Hope things are OK. I've heard the lake is flooded. I spent a lot of time at Loe's in the '80s.

Spent the last year on Texoma - nice BIG reservoir... yep, it's flooded again (2007 was last time) and Loe's is Highport Marina now with a brand new restaurant The Islands that replaced Pompanos which was totally flooded out in 2007.

The water level is 10 feet above normal, cresting tomorrow before it starts to recede by dumping water out the downstream flood gates. Problem is the trees along the shoreline get waterlogged and fall into the lake and float around everywhere... so no high speed boating. :smt009

We are the only dock that still has power but we can't drive to our dock as the water has cut off the roads. They are using water taxis to take you to your boat. :smt089

I understand Loe's was quite the wild party place in the eighties... no drugs going on there I'm sure.:smt043:smt101 :smt101

It was called Loe's Highport then. The family sold it maybe.

Indeed it was a wild place. It wasn't playing in the left lane it was playing in the oncoming traffic.

Believe me...I know your pain about the summer in Dallas. I've lived there three times: Rockwall, near downtown Dallas, and north of Flowermound not too far from Lake Lewisville. There is nothing more miserable than Texas in the summer -espcially after experiencing the Pacific Northwest for the past two years.

I'm not buying the quantity of 5 either. I test drove the same boat in February at the Miami Boat show from the Pompano Beach, Fl location. I loved the Zeus pod drive as it was much easier to dock. You didn't have to worry about wind or current. I also test drove the Montery 40' boat with the Volvo IPS which handles the exact same way as the Zeus pod drive and we liked the Monterey better because it was much more for the money. $399,000 compared to $650,000 of SeaRay and had so many more options and better seating and look. If I had the $399K i'd trade in our 380 Sundancer. I really like not having to think about wind or current when docking and would love either the Zeus or the Volvo IPS.

I know of and have personally boarded 2 of them for sale. One in upstate NY and the other in Cape Haze, FL. I don't buy the 5 number either.
