Sea Ray Quality

Guys,...........I've known Rusty for about 15 years; and I can tell you that Tiara ain't got no Rusty!

Frank, I would have to agree with you. I'm amazed that Rusty would take his own time, after working hours at 9PM, and respond to our posts. Not many companies have dedicated guys like him anymore.

Thanks Rusty for giving me the full picture of what Sea Ray is all about

Within the last month, I have e-mailed two other builders with questions about models the admiral and I have been casually looking at, both companys have choosen not to respond.
This past sunday evening, I fired off a quick e-mail to Sea Ray about 3 different power plants in early 2000's 400 DB's.
A fellow by the name of Rick Bressner had all the info I wanted to me by 9:44 Monday morning. Just the most recent example of the way I have been treated by the folks that built my last 4 boats.
That's customer service.

Rusty,

Thanks for taking the time and contributing to the site. Most folks here had different experiences in customer service, but since we're SR owners it means that it was more possitive than negative. It really helps to hear what you had posted, that during the tough times SR is putting the customers on top of the list. I hope that this approach would carry out though out the affiliated parties like MarineMax and we have more people like you close to home.

Having people like you helping our members is what will make this site even more valuable.

Cheers,
Alex.

Mark...I had the same experience. I emailed Sea Ray about one of the transducers on my 360DA...Rick answered by back in one day.

Rusty....thanks for providing input on the site....and like Turtle....I would love to ride shotgun on a delivery.

My last two boats have been Sea Rays, the first purchased privately the second from Marine Max. The second boat was located at Marine Max in White Marsh, MD but I bought it through MM in Lindenhurst, NY. I travelled to Maryland to see it, sea trial and survey it then it was shipped up and I closed on it in NY. I could not believe how accommodating they were in Maryland basically giving me run of the yard and personnel. Then at closing they could not do enough for me. This was the best large purchase experience I have ever had.

Would it surprise any of you to know that I was trained and mentored by the legend.....Rusty Higgins

Hey Rusty Great to hear from you. I can't make it to Expo but could you do me a favor? I'm dealing on a new 47. Put in a good word for me. Do you still have the Irish Harley shirt? Again great to hear from you.

Bradley,

Heck yeah I still have it, are you kidding me. That was given to me by a Sea Ray customer that earned my respect the hard way…he made me do the right thing. Oh, that was you Mr. Black.

I do not wear that shirt but for only special biking occasions. To have a HD shirt from Ireland in Florida is big. I almost got a girlfriend out of that spoke the brogue…problem is that she drank me under table too, which left me useless to seal the deal. I am blaming that one on you Sir.

Come see me again Mr. Black, it’s been too long!

I too have know Rusty for over a decade. There has been times where Rusty
actually followed up with a call over the weekend to make sure my boat was
ok knowing that I couldn't visit and repair it during the week. A factory
guy in Florida talking to me in Connecticut, while I am on my boat, helping
me solve a problem, AND IT'S A SATURDAY!

WORLD CLASS Customer Service.

Thats what Sea Ray is all about.

I was very surprised this year looking at the 43 db. However, my 2008 44 db is built like a tank. I am only comparing boats in this range or league. The Cummins package and systems have held up great and the boat handles great. Since I bought it new, I have had little problem and very minor warranty work. In fact, most of it I have done myself and Sea Ray just gave me the parts. I really think the older 42, 44 and 48 are a great product.

Well obvously my boat is far from new OR big (86 210) but I am still impressed on how well it is holding up for it's age - I still get compliments on the ol'girl and my family still enjoys the heck out of this thing. Sure it's not up to date anymore but I have added many custom touches and it is just a very useable boat.

Went to a boat show last year that had 5 or 6 mfgs there and there was a line to check out the new sea rays - the others, Not so much. Someday when I am rich and famous my first stop will be the sea ray dealer. (I'll keep the 86 for a dingy) :)

Very well made boats and great looking boats - I know you can not please all the people all of the time but they do a fine job and are made in the USA.

PS - Nice posting Rusty, Keep up the good work.

All I can say is this... the reason I have owned the Sea Ray's I have owned, is because of one Capt. Rusty Higgins.... I have had the pleasure to know Rusty for many years, and he and Sea Ray (Yes, I know it is a team effort, thank you all!) have NEVER let me down, and things have not always been easy, but they have always been made right!

I am a happy Sea Ray owner and Rusty and the awesome Customer Service Management and Team, have kept me that way...

I have to go talk to someone about winterizing now... boo.

Before the purchase of my Sea Ray I owned a ChaparralSignature 31. The Chaparral was a nice boat but nowhere near the quality of theSea Ray. The quality built into the Sea Ray is more than the physical boat; it’salso a company that backs their product. I especially enjoy the Sea Ray product datathat’s only a phone call away. The Sea Ray customer service is outstanding. Trulya blessing for the DIY guys.

Friends and Compatriots of the brand please allow me to close this thread with a ton of gratitude and a humbling alliance with my name attached to the product that I not only have lived by for over a quarter of a century but also drive on a regular basis.…SEA RAY BOATS !

I see so many names here that I have known for years, upon years, and from all points of the country. CSR is literally a kaleidoscope of cool people that all share the same common denominator, and it is not just your boat. My blessing is that I see and know a whole bunch of you but the bummer is all of you guys haven’t all hooked up with each other…..Yet!

Above just owning a Sea Ray boat, it’s a sense of all you being at sea, when only one of you is actually under way. Ray fans, that’s what it’s all about, right there!! Don’t believe me, just check on my man Turtle’s thread. Will be 8,000 site hits from you people before nights end….8,000 in a matter of just a couple days. Are you with him or what? He probably has more eyes following his path than a galleon full of gold, running many of the same waters, ah, just a few hundred years before. Same spirit and just as important, the same confidence in vessel and vessel support. No Mariner, of days gone by, worth their weight in bilge water would have made way on any boat he thought unworthy…..You, Ladies and Gentlemen, do it every day in the North Atlantic, the Atlantic, the Caribbean, the Gulf of Mexico, The Pacific, The Great Lakes, the Lake of the Ozark’s and all the other lakes and rivers like Martin, Travis and Minnesota and the mighty Mississippi!……..and folks, you’re all here, and I am honored to be mentioned by you. Thank you again very much, it does drop me. I will share your positive comments with Mr. Parmentier and all of my teammates at Sea Ray Boats…We truly appreciate your loyalty.

Thanksgiving 2011, this weekend!!!! Kind of favor this weekend aside from others as it doesn’t demand who or what your compass heading is. The Denomination of Thanksgiving is family and loved ones and the bountiful embrace of both. Hope yours is warm.

Probably won’t hear from us for a week or so due to the holiday, and then shortly after, followed up by our Yacht Expo event. A few of you have mentioned that you are planning on attending, please come see me on the beautiful 610 Sundancer, at the end of the dock. To the rest of the Sea Ray Owners and Club Sea Ray members, your presence will be felt, just like Turtle feels you now, I promise…… expect a full report.

All the Best Captains, Mates & Friends,

Rusty

I debated whether or not to throw my hat into the ring briefly here or not. Maybe I shouldn't....but obviously I decided to because a question kept occuring to me.

I bought my first boat 25 years ago which wasn't a Sea Ray. My family and I loved it...but I always admired the Sea Rays that pulled up to the docks and I'd always find myself saying..."ahhh...maybe some day".

Well...it's "someday". I just finished my first season on the water with my Sea Ray. Granted it's not new...not even close....not 40+ feet...not even close....and I didn't put out anywhere near as many "zeros" after the first number many others here have....not even close. BUT...I have my Sea Ray and so far.....my wife and I love the boat.

Oh yes....my question.

Can those of us with what's referred to as a "classic" Sea Ray.....less than 30 feet.....with no where near as many "zeros" after the first number invested......expect the same kind of customer service...and almost immediate responses from Sea Ray in less than a day.....that the owners of newer 40+ foot Sea Rays with many "zeros" invested appear to get?

I would hope the answer is yes. Maybe I'll find out someday. Haven't had a need yet.
