Hello All,
I've been watching this site for awhile, and just registered, so I thought I should post here...
Sea Rays have been a vice for well over twenty years now. I've had a 1979 260DA, a new 1986 300WE, and currently have an '86 340EC. We also have a '95 Boston Whaler Montauk that we keep in the water with the Sea Ray.
My wife and I bought the 340 after finding it on Boattrader.com. It was a sad mess, a repo in Bradenton Florida, but it ran well. We flew down and cruised it from there to Captiva Island (South Seas Plantation Resort), down to Key West, up to Key Largo and Miami, and left it in Fort Pierce. It was a three week dream trip.
The 340 is now in Brownsville Washington in a boathouse. I've gone insane on the restoration of it- far too much to relay here. All new cabinets, hardware, ultra leather headliner, home A/V system with surround sound and two LCD TV's. New hatches, portlights, teak, windlass, and a stainless Bruce type anchor. I have 100's of photos of the project in progress, but haven't yet signed up with one of the online posters, such as photobucket. I'll try to do that sometime soon.
If anyone out there needs help finding sources for trim parts, etc. on an 80's Sea Ray, I have a file of such things and am happy to share. My email is on file here, or you can PM me. I'll try to check in regularly.
My project is probably two or three years from completion. Some areas are still a construction site, while others are looking very nice. Don't look for any "finished product" photos for awhile...
Thanks for the Sea Ray site. I appreciate it!
John
