Sea Ray Homecoming Cruiser/Sport Boat Expo !! Here we go!

Our flight arrives into Knoxville at 4PM on Thursday. I have reservations at the Hampton in Knoxville for Thursday and Friday nights and then the Hilton Garden Inn in Gatlinburg for Saturday and Sunday nights. If nothing is going on for Friday evening I may change that and go to Gatlinburg on Friday night. We have no definitive plans for the weekend other than poking around the Smoky Mountains.

Was originally planning on driving up EARLY Friday morning. May have to try and swing another day. Not easy since both the Admiral and I are in the education field and school will just be getting into full swing.

I will be there however I am still trying to determine how many will be with me. Could be as many as 6 total. I will update as soon as I can.

Good morning folks thought we would take care of some Q & A for those asking particulars....

cmn1882 - you might have to explain the Volunteer Navy to some folks. It is such a cool thing that most don't even know about.

Matthew- I will check on docking for your 290 for the day but I do know for sure that the plant will NOT allow overnight docking...we simply do not have the plugs/water or facilities to accommodate overnight. Also- bring your co-worker please. We will make a Ray man out of him in no time.

Midway- Com'on brother, make the time!

MonacoMike- I see success now but please keep adding them on.

I also know that we would have no problem of RV's during the day but the same rules apply for after hours just like the dock. This is a manufacturing facility and we are just not set up to accommodate overnighting. The placed is locked down at night with security roaming the grounds. I do know there are nice RV and marina facilities real close to the plant and if needed I can and will find names and numbers of these locations and post that info.

YES- you are going to be one of the first to see the new 370 Venture and other new models that I want to leave a surprise....bigger than 37 feet you ask? YES again !

This event is growing faster than I can monitor from offshore and that is a problem I enjoy having. The great people in Knoxville just keep adding new things each day to our Friday that I am starting to get concerned if a day or two is enough. Let’s all do this one up right this year so that future events can only be bigger and better and end up making it a weekend long extravaganza!

This has become not only a homecoming for our older boats but an Expo environment where you the customer will have more say-so than ever before. Can you think of the last time you remember where a company was driven by its consumer’s directions? We at Sea Ray Boats are not only excited but are going to do whatever we can to make this event a success for all of us.

Do we know that all of you are not new boat owners, yes. Do we know all of you probably may not buy new yachts this year, yes. Do we believe that all of you are as valuable to our brand as a brand new 610 Sundancer, YES!

You are Sea Ray Boats so take advantage of owning and being part of our company, and by all means, please come see us on September 14th……it will be worth it, we promise.

Capt. Rusty

Thanks to Frank for filling in the gaps (he says he is not Rusty and he is right, I have to ask him for permission before asking Sea Ray. just kidding of course but certainly could not maneuver without him) and of course thanks to chuck1- I owe you big time my man!

At this time it is not looking good for us to be there, wife's new job not wanting to co-operate. If they change their outlook and it is not too late to get a room, then we will be there. Hey Rusty, if it was just makin time I would already have my room reserved, I would love to be there. The more you post about what is going to be there just makes it even mo betta. lol

Rusty we try to help any way we can. Thank you for all you and Sea Ray are doing. Looking forward to seeing every body. If somebody know about any RV parks around the plant sure would like to know. The closest I've found is over in Sevierville(sp).

Reading this thread is KILLING ME!!! I already have 20 vacation days scheduled for the months of July/Aug and am trying to get the 14,15[SUP]th[/SUP] off but doesn’t look good…………….work is getting in the way!!

Rick (mistercomputerman), If you are driving to Knoxville, will you bring me a couple of pounds of BBQ from Pierce's?

If you don't need hook ups for water, electricity, etc and are just looking for a place to park for the night, most Walmarts allow you to stay in their parking lots overnight.

You are correct about the plant/Corp headquarters being B. Not sure about the parking lots being avl most of them are fenced in. I thought last time I was at the plants I had seen a RV area but, Rusty said it was not avl any more. I'll keep looking.

I just threw away 5 pounds of Doumar's BBQ left over from LLM. Those yanks don't know about pulled pork sandwiches with slaw.

Last year I made meatballs and since they recognized what they were, they ate every damn one of them before I had a chance to eat one.

My BBQ got panned.
