I was talking to the GM at my local dealership and he told me Sea Ray has rehired the old design "engineers". The 2009 line up is from their designs. That is what is driving some of the changes back. I was looking at the new 270da and can see a difference. Dead rise is back to a managable degree, and if you look closely at the stern trailing edge of the hull, at the reverse chine, there are "trim tabs" glassed into it. There is a screen door for the cabin entry. Etc, etc, I can see design from a boat user perspective, rather than pure engineering. I think if the trend continues Sea Ray just might cure the ills of the dreaded 2005 - 2008 models. Mike

Another gossip story is Brunswick is going to lay off 6000 more. Crap, 6000 is a big number. I guess it will be distrubitued along the boat lines, but 6000.
