I have a 2001 Sea Ray 230 Signature in which the dash lights quit working. I checked the fuses and they all appear to be good. Any ideas on how I can get to the dash light bulbs to check them out?

My strip light is working, but not connected to the back of the dash very well. PO used mylar tape to hold in place, but that has long ago failed.

How to reattach the strip light? More mylar tape or possibly hot glue in place? I'm headed to the boat today, may try hot glue gun since that is what I have on hand.

So how do you get to the strip lights? Only way thru the back of the dash?

I reattached mine using the aluminum foil duct tape from home depot. Its designed for heating ducts so should hold (and it has for over 2 years now)

Does your model use the "peanut" (electronic switchpad) for 12V accessories or individual switches? Or, are you referring the GAUGES that aren't lighting up? Regardless, I think your switches (either style) light up themselves... do you have a dash where the panel is "engraved" with switch function? If not, you don't have a strip light.

Assuming you're actually talking about the gauges... Do you have a dimmer on your dash? Have you tried that? You're making sure the Nav light switch is on, right?

After all that, each gauge has a bulb - it would be really odd for all to stop working. So I would look at the dimmer switch to have failed or have dirty/loose connections... or the feed wire from the Nav switch.

Aluminum duct tape! $5 a roll at local ace.
