Just got my latest issue of Motor Boating .. has a test of the new SR 450DA in it. This boat doesn't even show yet on the Sea Ray site.
Interesting switch in layout. Wide open interior with huge twin sofa seating areas in main and mid cabin. No separate mid cabin or second head at all, just wide open spaces with lots of seating and home theater size plasma panel TV. Boat for DINKs or sunsetters with lots of friends.

See it here: http://www.motorboating.com/articleHtml.jsp?ID=1000075479

There is a link for an additional picture gallery on the bottom.

The beam is 13. As someone said earlier this must be the replacement for the 40DA.

This boat has a totally different customer target group. Can't see it replacing any of the current DAs. I think it is an addition.

Just got the same issue in the mail. Exactly the same beam as the 40, but less than the 43. Interesting. I do have to say the interior pictures show a vast improvement over the 40 in the styling department. I do agree with some of the comments above - it's targeted for folks that like similar layouts of the 340/350, or 38/40, 42 and 44.

I personally like the interior style of the 43, 48, and 540. The aft "cabin" set up is more conducive to longer overnight trips with more than two folks.

$667,000 for the base 450. Russo has a 430 for a mil. Doesn't make sense.

Did you read the fine print. BASE PRICE WITH GAS I/O's and Axuis

Yeah, I read it. Did you read the base price for the 43 on Sea Ray's website $873,500? I don't get it.

And why would they make diesel the base propulsion on a 43 and gas the base propulsion on a 450? I don't get it.

Oh, and why would the LOA of the 43 be 47'3" and the 450 be 45'5." I don't get it.

I Can't wait to see what they are calling the 43 soon!

The 43 is designed around Zeus. It is a top-of-the-line model with tons of amenities built into the base model to include the diesels and Zeus. It is a specialty boat.

The 450 is more along the lines of the cruisers that we're used to seeing. It is renamed from a smaller hull design. Historically, these cruisers have been offered with gas as the entry engine to ensure the smallest "List" price, and to start at the bottom where some lake boaters may be very well suited to buy.

Bottom line - 450: Smaller than a 450, entry level with tons of options to add
43: Really a 43 with diesel, Zeus, and tons of options included (and a ton of R&D money to recapture)

EDIT: And one more thing - I don't like the title of this thread. They are not bringing back the boat you and I know of as a 450. They are bringing back the name "450." It is a new boat with an old name. There are only so many numbers you can use unless you want to start making 421's, 422's...

Yes I agree this will probably will be the biggest cruiser they make and the 43 will be in the sport yacht category.

My father in law was on a new 450 in Ocean City, MD this weekend, list was 1.6M. I'd say that one was pretty optioned out.

1.6 million WOW !!!!

I have been told my 450 is worth around $200k and it's in mint condition with a ton of extra's....

The 43 is being re-badged as the 470...

The 450 is the new 42DA? Like the 310 is the new 290. Compare length, beam, and fuel capacity.
