Sea Ray unveiled a large presence Thursday at the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show, the biggest in-water boat show in the world. The sprawling in-water display featured 12 boats, including the complete L-Class lineup, and the new 400 Sundancer and the 400 Fly. There are additional sport boat models on display in the convention center, including the popular SPX series and the red-hot 270 Sundeck/270 Sundeck OB.

The show kicked off with a VIP party Thursday night where we enjoyed meeting several ClubSeaRay.com members. In addition to introducing the new 400 models, Sea Ray Group President Tim Schiek also announced the new Sea Ray Owners Club (SROC), officially beginning in January of 2016. He also offered a sneak peek of the beta owners club portal at ownersclub.searay.com. Yachting Magazine did a nice job capturing some of the event in a video here: https://www.facebook.com/yachtingmagazine/videos/10153089435022750

The mood at the show was upbeat, with a wide variety of manufacturers reporting positive sales results. While Sea Ray didn't release specific numbers, opening day sales were up more than 100% over the previous year, led by a strong reception for the new 400 models.

Just wanted to give you all the latest Sea Ray update. Thanks again to all the ClubSeaRay.com members who came by to introduce themselves! We really value this independent community.

Do you have more photo's?

Thier presentation at the show was top notch. They should do very well with the new 400s. Very nice looking boats with great layouts.

Yes it is a great display with great representation through our favorite Captain.....

Sea Ray knows how to throw a party! It was exciting to learn about the re-launch of the Sea ray Owners Club.....They are promising events as well as regional ambassadors to support our activities. The new 400 sundancer (and fly) were very cool with NO CANVAS......Of course, the L class yachts were amazing too - all in all it is very good to see how strong Sea Ray is and how committed they are to us. Attached are some pics of the event as well as a parting shot as I buttoned up our 300 before it was put inside for the next 7 weeks

Will Sea Ray be exhibiting at the Palm Beach Boat Show?
Would love to come and check out the new boats.

I am so glad as a Iowan (or as some are calling us... Ioweenians) to be at the show. This really was my first on-water show. I did have an invite to the VIP event, but had another engagement in Miami. It was extremely difficult to see those pictures as it looked like I missed a good time. I also didn't have the chance to meet Captain Rusty, but got to meet the most delightful person Mary V. who showed us through the L650. SeaRay... you are simply the best!

I'm just getting over Vertigo, please don't post pictures of boats upside down! lol Looks like a great event and next year I will make sure we make it down there. Looking forward to more Sea Ray events too.

Geez Bolt - you should've kept in touch. We did it opposite of you on Friday - flew down to key west early with a buddy to look at a boat, had breakfast, then flew back to flibs to catch the show from 11 on. Thought of you when I passed the MAN display!! Gotta love those "man grenades!! You don't even visit us in Charlevoix anymore!!

We didn't stay in Lauderdale. Drove back to our place in Jupiter that evening. Must've been a great drive down to Keys. How far did you go? Largo? Islamorada?

Very hot there this year! We flew down on Saturday and attended Sunday and Monday.

Sea Ray did a very nice job this year! I do have to say, the 400 is an impressive boat. Lot's of room for a boat of this LOA and beam. Ditto the flybridge (seating, amenities, etc.). I am now a fan of the 510 ( I wasn't last year). Simply, the open concept (particularly, the open ceiling) has now grown on us. Big improvement over the last generation 48/500. Word is the 47 will be the next in line for the updated design. This cannot happen soon enough. As a side-note, the 590 and 650 (L-Class) boats are beautiful, but way over-priced IMO. Hmmm, let's see…a 2010 Nordhavn 76 (on display one dock over) or a 650 Fly. Same price, no contest. Just saying'.

Of all the boats we looked at, the Marlow 49 (LOA 57') was our hands-down favorite of the show. Priced (new) in the same ballpark as a fully optioned, retail-priced 510 Fly. Full, stand-up engine room (I'm just over 6 feet tall), very open floor plan, great bridge, etc. Regardless, the show was great and we had a great time.
