Sea Ray Advertisement "OOPS"

Not to spoil the fun... I see what you're talking about, but I think it's actually there. That boat has an SS screen mesh to cover the opening - it's just the way the light is shining at it. That small, rectangular SS piece (on the left side) is part of the mesh.

I heard that jet skiis and jon boats are being built by Sea Ray, too.

I think it's missing...

It is missing but they did it on purpose. They are trying to show that they can build a Sea Ray just like a Bayliner.

mine seem to have them on. I guess they screw up while building mine?

Looking at the 260 photos on the site I can see where Dennis could be right. BUT...

1.) Who on the design team thought that looked good? Or even acceptable?
2.) What were they smoking when they signed off on that advertisement photo?

I'll look at one first hand on Saturday, but from where I'm sitting, thats really messed up. For me it is totally unacceptable. I'm actually starting to get a little irritated about it.

Checked out the 260 on the Sea Ray site. Its actually a mesh recessed into the side of the boat. That pic is an illusion of it not beeing there with the sun hitting it just right. I would not have approved the photo though if it were me.

The ad should read: Check out Sea Rays new 2011 European Design 260DA (LOA = 19'-6")

It looks like crap....but recent SR designs are trending that way anyways. You'd think they would have finished the inside of the intake with either Stainless Steel or gel coat to make it look pretty when the light hits it just right at least. Crapola.

And what's with all these European designs? Since when did any self respecting American look to Europe for innovation??? Come ON, let's demand that SR return to the good old fashioned American designs that made Sea Ray great in the first place!!! WHO's with me?!?
A big 10-4 !! I was OK with the change (I guess) with the first 290/310DA but it is all down hill from there. I hope I don't make any 290DA owners made but the seating arrangement on the first (modern)290DA was terrible. There was not place for the "Capt." to sit and look forward on a long trip.

One of European on this board is with you!

American boats should have a high bow, a low stern, they shoud be large and without large portholes on the sides!
